Frequently Asked Questions

Hair Extensions Quality

Q: What type of Hair is used in Extensions?

A: We used 100% Human Hair in our Hair Extensions. Nothing beats the versatility of human hair extensions. Human hair, unlike synthetic hair, can be straightened with a flat iron, curled with heat, or chemically treated to perm or dye the hair. Thin and fine hair becomes full and thicker. Short hair transforms to long, luxurious hair.

Q: How long do the extensions last?

A: The key to making hair extensions last longer lies in taking proper care of them. Just like regular hair, extensions need to be washed, conditioned and groomed to help maintain shine, strength and elasticity. The more carefully you look after them the longer they will last.

Q: What is Remy hair? Are all your hair extensions Remy hair?

A: Remy hair is the highest quality of hair available for hair extensions. The biggest characteristic of Remy hair is that the cuticles are kept intact. This means that all the roots are at one end of the weft, and all the tips are at the other. So Remy hair has a smoother, shinier, and healthier appearance than regular human hair. And only those labeled with “remy” are Remy hair extensions. The others are non-remy ones.

Q: What is Virgin hair? Are all your hair extensions Virgin hair?

A: Virgin hair is hair that has never been chemically treated -- this includes perms, dying, chemically straighten and bleaching. This termed is often used when it comes to hair extensions. Since virgin has never been treated, it's much more expensive than other hair types because it is soft, in great shape and can be chemically treated even as extensions. And only those labeled with “virgin” are Virgin hair extensions. The others are non-virgin ones.

Q:What is the difference between Remy Hair and Virgin Hair?

A: Remy hair is divided into two initial categories: virgin and non-virgin. Virgin remy hair has not been chemically processed; this hair is raw and natural in other terms. Non-virgin remy hair underwent some sort of chemical processing in order to achieve another color.

Q: How to tell human hair from synthetic hair?

A: Human hair has natural protein. It is easy to tell by burning and smell: human hair will turn to ash, which will go away after pinching. Human hair will smell foul. When burning, the human hair will show white smoke. While synthetic hair will be a sticky ball after burning and will show black smoke. Moreover, human hair may have very few gray hair and split end. It is normal and not a quality problem.

Care and Usage

Q: Can they be straightened, curled or tongued?

A: Yes, simply because it’s real human hair you can straighten and curl the hair. This actually is a test in itself to know if you are not being sold a synthetic product.Use a flat iron/ straightener or tongs, even when fitted, but as with your own hair, never use hot tools too often as you could dry the hair and it will not last as long.

Q: Can I colour the hair?

A: Yes. The hair can be coloured. As a general rule it is easier to darken the hair than to lighten the hair. But blonde hair has been bleached more so more caution must be taken. We highly recommend having your hairdresser dye the extensions as you will get the results you want, coloring them yourself always poses a high risk of not coming out the shade you want. If you can`t get to a salon, always use a good quality hair dye and test a small sample first.

Q: Can I wash & blow-dry the hair extensions?

A: Yes. You can wash them as you would your own. Shampoo and conditioner. We also recommend using a hair treatment on them every few  weeks, because the hair is not attached to your scalp, it is not getting the oils it should be. Using a treatment/hair mask will help keep them looking healthier and shiny for longer! You will find that you don`t need to wash your extensions too much, about every 3 weeks. The extensions can be blow-dryed on low setting, but it is not recommended to do it too often. It is best to let your hair extensions dry naturally after washing them.

Q: How do I know if I choose the correct colour?

A: If you are not sure what colour to match your own hair, you can check our Colour Chart: https://www.daifeer.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=14 to make a choice. If possible, please try to choose the closest colour to match the middle and ends of your hair instead the new outgrowth.

Q: How often should I wash my hair extensions?

A: You should only wash hair up to twice a week with extensions.
